PB6 FSR6 Cam Clutch One-Way Bearing: Engineering Excellence by LST Sprag Clutch
In high-demand industrial environments, the reliability of mechanical power transmission depends on the precision of your overrunning components. LST Sprag Clutch offers the PB6 FSR6 cam clutch one-way bearing series, engineered for consistent torque transmission and fail-safe anti-reverse performance. As a specialist in heavy-duty motion control, LST provides the mechanical stability required for continuous operation in mission-critical applications.
Understanding Cam Clutch and One-Way Bearing Technology
The PB6 and FSR6 configurations serve as vital backstops and holdbacks in complex mechanical systems. Designed to allow free rotation in one direction while instantly engaging to prevent reverse movement, these clutches are indispensable for equipment where safety and operational continuity are paramount. At LST Sprag Clutch, we utilize high-grade bearing steel to ensure that every unit handles rigorous load cycles without structural fatigue.
Operational Advantages for Industrial Systems
Our clients—ranging from plant managers to systems integrators—frequently face challenges related to torque fluctuations and mechanical rollback. Our PB6 and FSR6 series solve these issues through:
- Precision Engagement: Minimal backlash ensures immediate response when direction reversal is detected.
- High Durability: Constructed from premium bearing steel, our clutches resist wear even under high-frequency engagement cycles.
- Stable Torque Transmission: Designed to maintain constant torque integrity, preventing slippage in high-load scenarios.

Industrial Applications
The versatility of the PB6 and FSR6 cam clutch designs allows them to be deployed across various sectors:
- Material Handling: Essential as holdbacks for belt conveyors and bucket elevators to prevent gravity-induced reversal.
- Power Transmission: Integration into speed reducers to ensure directional control.
- Manufacturing: Reliability in textile and high-speed packaging machinery where timing and unidirectional movement are critical.
Customization and Turnkey Service
While our standard PB6 and FSR6 units are kept in stock for immediate deployment, LST Sprag Clutch recognizes that unique engineering requirements often demand custom solutions. We offer:
- Non-Standard Dimensions: Custom sizing for retrofits or specialized equipment housings.
- Rapid Prototyping: Sample provision available (freight collect) to ensure compatibility before full-scale deployment.
- Logistics Efficiency: Standard inventory orders carry a leading time of just one week, supporting your maintenance and production schedules.

Installation and use:
The concentricity between inner and outer ring should be kept by sliding bearing which is installed in the middle of inner and outer ring. The radial load acted at outer ring should also be supported by sliding bearing. Therefore the shaft should be spread to outer ring end where the clutch is passed.
The shaft tolerance recommended use will be as follows:
TypeTolerancePB3, PB4, PB6, PB8+0 TO ~0.013PB10, PB12, PB14+0 to ~ 0.016Don’t use PB series cam clutch as coupling. When connect two pieces of shaft with elastic coupling together.
View in the direction regulated in above Fig, whether it is right direction or left direction inner ring engaging movement, before debugging, check whether the rotary direction of clutch is correct.
For the fields of indexing application, it is suggested to use lubricating oil.
The key to be used should be in conformity with JIS B 1301–1959.
The axial load should be supported by other device and not by cam clutch itself.
The hole of follower, e.g. chainwheel at outer ring of clutch, should be in conformity with H6 or H7 in JIS.
